# vWorker: Settings

The **Mobile App** settings in vCore control how the vWorker app behaves for all workers in your organisation. This includes what workers can do when starting and completing shifts, what they must record, and how the app handles security and location.

Settings changed here apply to every worker using vWorker. Some settings can be overridden at the client or worker level, and these are called out below.

## Finding the settings

1. Go to **Settings** → **Mobile App**
2. Under the **vWorker** column, click a section to expand it
3. Update the settings as needed
4. Click **Save**

<Note>
  Workers may need to log out of vWorker and log back in, or close and reopen the app, before some changes take effect.
</Note>

## General

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Prevent User taking Screenshot** | When set to **Yes**, workers can't take screenshots in the app. When set to **No**, screenshots are allowed, and Visualcare emails the address in **Settings** → **Company Info** → **Email** each time a worker takes one. |
| **Travel Note** | Controls whether the travel note field is visible to workers when they complete a shift. |
| **Verify password every time the app returns from background** | Workers **must** enter their password if screen locks |
| **Edit Profile Picture** | When set to **Yes**, workers can edit their own profile picture that is displayed. When set to **No**, this is fully controlled by the admin users. |
| **Worker name format** | **Control** how much of the workers name is displayed. |
| **Show buttons, fields, information** | **Control** what is shown in areas throughout the app for the worker. |

<Warning>
  If the travel note is required in the **Shift** section but hidden in the **General** section, workers on Android can't complete their shifts. Make sure the field is visible whenever it's required.
</Warning>

## Shift

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Require GPS permission** | When set to **Yes**, workers are prompted to turn on location services when they sign in to vWorker. |
| **GPS requirement for shift completion** | Controls whether workers need location services turned on to complete a shift. If a worker can't use location services, update this setting rather than leaving them unable to finish shifts. |
| **Travel note requirement** | Controls whether workers must enter a travel note to complete a shift. |
| **Require Client signature** | Sets the default for whether workers need a client signature to complete a shift. |
| **Back-to-back shift options** | Controls how back-to-back location roster shifts are handled, including whether they carry over correctly to timesheets. |
| **Create tasks from shift notes** | Travel notes or completion notes entered in vWorker can automatically create a task in vCore. |
| **Show actual Start/Finish Time** | When the worker clocks in, the Actual start time will show in brackets underneath the rostered start/finish times. |
| **Show KM between shifts when completing a shift** | By default, KM during the shift is always shown for the worker. This is an extra field to allow a worker to put in KM's travelled between shifts |
| **Show "Any signs of deterioration" when completing a shift** | This will display a **toggle** for the worker at the end of a shift. If it is toggled to **Yes**, the client's Case Manager will get an email alert. If no Case Manager, the company settings email recieves the notification. |
| **Show all other worker(s) for multi-workers/location shift** | Will display any other workers rostered on **to the same location** and option to show any on the whole day or only for that workers shift time. |
| **Require workers to enter a note when completing shift** | Ensures the worker must enter a completion note at the end of the shift, app will **not clock out** unless there is one. |
| **Variation/Travel notes to create a task** | If a worker enters either of these through the mobile app, a task is created for the **Case Manager.** |
| **Note/Photo visibility when workers submit** | Control who can see the notes or photos. Worker would be any worker who **works with the client**, and client's would be anyone who has access to **vAboutMe.** Invisible means only office staff can see the notes and photos. |
| **Shift Report Selection Prompt (Allow worker to choose which shift for filling completion form)** | Relevant for back to back shifts- if allowed, worker can choose which shift to fill out the completion form on. |
| **Require workers to enter 'KM travelled during shift' and 'Travel notes' when completing shift** | Ensures worker has to fill these fields out before clocking out of the shift. |
| **Back to back location shifts (client timesheet confirmed if shift is within worker start/finish time)** | Worker only needs to clock in at the beginning of shift and end to confirm multiple back to back shifts in location. Disable requires worker to clock in and out of each portion of the back to back shifts. |

<Note>
  A client's own **Require signature** setting overrides the default set here. If workers are asked for a signature when the default is set to not required, open the client profile and set **Require signature** to **Default**.
</Note>

## Home

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Rostering** | Controls whether workers can add or edit shifts from the app. |
| **Number of days displayed** | Will show the worker their shifts for the next xx amount of days. |
| **Distance and Travel time** | Additional option for the worker to view distance (km's) and Travel time (minutes) between their shifts in one day. |

<Note>
  Workers can only add or edit shifts if their **Worker Type** is set to **Contractor** or **Service Provider** on the **Finance** tab of their profile. See [Enabling adhoc shifts](/apps/vworker-clocking-in-and-out#enabling-adhoc-shifts) for the full setup.
</Note>

## Other vWorker settings

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Require login each time** | When turned on, workers must log in every time they open the app. When turned off, workers stay logged in until they log out. |
| **Prompt to cancel incomplete form** | When ticked, workers see a prompt to cancel any incomplete forms and can still start their shift. When unticked, workers must complete open forms before they can start a shift. |
| **Adhoc shifts** | Allows workers to create unscheduled shifts in the app. |
| **Prevent workers submitting leave requests and updating availability on the vWorker app and the onboarding portal when there are shifts assigned in the next** | 1, 2, 4 & 6 week options. E.g. If worker has shifts assigned in the next 2 weeks, and setting set for "**2 weeks**", the worker will not be able to change their availability and a note will appear advising to contact the office. If no shifts assigned to the worker, worker can update availability in the app and onboarding portal. This applies to both entering **leave** and updating **availability**. "**No Limitations"** means worker can enter leave/update availability even if they have a shift the **next day.** |
| **Advanced Incident** | Toggle this to turn on the ability to have up to three separate Incident forms: Client Incident, Worker Incident and Location Incident |

## Settings managed outside Mobile App

Some things workers see in vWorker are controlled in other areas of vCore:

| What you want to change | Where to change it |
| - | - |
| Which forms workers can see in the app | **Maintenance** → **Templates**, then tick **Visible to Worker** on the form template |
| Which form appears at shift start, shift completion or for incidents | **Maintenance** → **Templates**, then tick **Is Start Form**, **Is Completion Form** or **Is Incident Form**. Check for division overrides in **Maintenance** → **Divisions**. |
| Whether a specific client requires a signature | The **Require signature** field on the client profile |
| Client health information shown to workers | The **Details** tab on the client profile |
